Static lighting colours have stood the test of time, but sometimes you’ll want as much impact as possible – that’s where our animated lighting solutions come into their own. Whether for Merchandising, Hospitality or Commercial premises, there’s not much that isn’t possible. All of these animation options can be used with either our Neon Ultra® or Ultra products.
What animation options are there?
01 – Static
- Choose from the following selection of colours: Ice White, Warm White, Red, Orange, Yellow, Green & Blue.
- Light will always illuminate the same colour.
- Different sections of the light can be produce in different static colours, eg different letters in different colours.
- This is the cheapest option.
02 – RGB
- RGB LEDs inset within the light.
- Supplied with RGB controller so that the colour of the light can be set and changed, as well as made to flash and dim.
- Various RGB contollers available such as remote control or to manually enter the exact R, G and B settings.
- All elements of the light will be the same at any point tin time, eg all Blue or all Yellow.
03 – DMX
- RGB LEDs set within the light
- Supplied with DMX controller and/or encoder
- This enables the light to be either:
- Pre-programmed to flash and animate exactly as you wish, or
- Controlled through a lighting desk
- This means the light can animate exactly as you choose such as in your brand colours or in time to music.
04 – Spectrum
- Every single LED is addressable
- Light is pre-programmed before delivery.
- This enables effects such as waves of colour flowing through the lights and flickering effects.
- The programming can be altered by ourselves by sending you a new memory card with the new programme on.
What can it be used for?
It’s genuinely a case of what can’t it be used for. More specifically, as all of these animation options are used in either our Neon Ultra® or Ultra lights, they’re all made from acrylic and LEDs so they’re perfectly suited to commercial use. Whether Visual Merchandising, Display, Nightclubs or TV & Theatre, animated lighting can be used for wayfinding, branding and cool decor.

FAQ’s
What type of lights can be animated?
The animation options described on this page refer to our Neon Ultra® and Ultra style of lights. Neon and Fairground lights can also be animated but have different options. Contact us if you’d like to know more about animating Neon and Fairground Lights.
What are Neon Ultra® and Ultra made from?
They are both produced from acrylic and LEDs.
What's the difference between Neon Ultra® and Ultra®?
They are both made in the same way, using acrylic and LEDs, but Neon Ultra® is designed to mimic neon so it always has the same strokewidth throughout as well as having a rounded face.
What's the best option if I want to control the light from a lighting desk?
DMX.
Can I change the animation setting myself?
Yes, if you choose RGB, in which case you can change the colour and dim the light yourself. For more complex effects such as chasing and flickering, we need to pre-programme the light, which can be changed at a later date but the programme unit would need to be sent to us.
Can animated lights be used outside?
Yes, as long as we know in advance then it’ll be produced for outdoor use.
