We were approached by the brilliant team at Bucci Pizza, asking us to design and produce the signage for their new mobile pizza truck that was being produced by the extremely talented team at Amobox. The photographs show how stunning the final signage looks, but a lot of design-work went on behind the scenes to make sure the end result was as eye-catching as it is.
The initial plan was to have two sets of signage:
We created 3D renders of various different designs to show how the signage would look if it was manufactured and located as per the initial brief. This enables the client to see if it visually matches what they had in mind, as well as helping to flag any practicalities that need to be taken into account. This includes questions such as: How will power leads get to the signage? Where will the signage be stored during transportation of the vehicle? Will hatches and doors open as anticipated or will the signage be in the way?
Various different aesthetic looks and production methods were investigated and mocked up as renders. We looked at timber effects, solid gold face.halo illumination effects but finally settled on face illumination with a gold keyline which looks absolutely stunning. The internal stacked logo signage measured 1,000mm (w) x 542mm (h) and the single line exterior BUCCI PIZZA illuminated signage measured a significant 2,530mm (w) x 432mm (h).
Working with the teams at Bucci Pizza and Amobox were a great example of how such a high quality product and can be designed and delivered when working closely in collaboration with all of the appropriate stakeholders. We’re very grateful for having been instructed to deliver the signage for this project and can’t wait to see Bucci Pizza out on the road!
